NBS provides meaningful financial support through sponsorships and grants to hundreds of sporting, arts, health, education and environmental organisations. The current sponsorship budget for this business year is $1M.
The Position
This newly created role is responsible for ensuring NBS have a strategic and deliberate approach to managing its sponsorship program. You will develop frameworks and key measures to make sure the sponsorship spend benefits NBS, the groups its supports and the wider community. This includes working with the 8 Branch Managers, located through the Nelson, Tasman and West Coast regions and our branch in Mid Canterbury, to develop and execute their local sponsorship strategies. You will also manage a program of communication and marketing activities to raise NBS’s profile and engagement with the community, iwi and other stakeholders. In addition, you will work with internal teams to ensure alignment with brand, sustainability and social impact strategies.
Who we’re looking for
To shine in this role you will have a background in marketing, communications, sponsorships, fundraising or grants, from either the corporate or not for profit sectors. Your core skills will include sponsorship management, content creation, and relationship management. You will be adept at storytelling with exceptional communication skills and a talent for communicating key brand messages. A confident presenter, you will be a positive representative for our brand. Other critical elements include a connection to and understanding of our local community, combined with cultural empathy, ability to engage with iwi and basic te reo Māori (or a willingness to learn).
