Ablaze opens at Nelson Provincial Museum

Ablaze opens today!
As part of Tuku 22 Whakatū Heritage Months we present ‘Ablaze – The 2019 Tasman Fires’, a touring exhibition that tells the story of the devastating 2019 Tasman Fires and how they affected the region; its environment, people, and animals.
The exhibition highlights the role of the firefighters and many volunteers that helped to get the fire under control and keep everyone safe. Developed by the Nelson Provincial Museum, the exhibition features artwork by Celia Allen, and includes firefighting equipment kindly on loan from the Wakefield Volunteer Fire Brigade and Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ).
This temporary exhibition is open to the public from today until Sunday 8th May, 2022 and is free for Nelson Tasman residents.
