First online Courageous Conversation to acknowledge World Refugee Day: Cultural Conversations Nelson

Today, we are release our first online Courageous Conversation to acknowledge World Refugee Day.
The episode is 21 minutes long so we appreciate you taking this time to learn more about our refugee community and how enriching this is for Whakatū (Nelson).
Courageous Conversations is a 4 part documentary mini series funded by the Ministry of Ethnic Communities where a migrant to New Zealand gets to tell their story to an inquisitive and sensitive New Zealand listener. The Storytellers have all faced challenging experiences as part of their relocation to NZ. Courageous Conversations are true stories that cover some serious topics that could be upsetting to some audiences.
Watch Tom Ingham – a Nelson Giant, Basketball player and teacher at Nelson Intermediate sit down with Miguel, a young Colombian man who escaped gang threats with his family seeking refuge in Aotearoa three years ago.
