Nelson Artistic Roller Skating Club. Winning in Blenheim
The National Championships are held every year and skaters are required to qualify at their Area Championships to represent their club at Nationals. Nelson had a team of 14 skaters attend, three of them skated and individual events as well as the team showskate event. Keiko Bamba came 3rd in the Masters ladies figure event, Hayley Nam came 1st in the Masters ladies freeskate and freedance events and 2nd in the Advanced masters compulsory dance event and the show group came 3rd. It was an action packed, jaw dropping absolutely inspirational week for our young skaters who got to see the top skaters from all over New Zealand compete.
