We’re on the hunt for an experienced barista and coffee expert to lead the team at our Sublime Nelson Airport Espresso Bar. This particular Sublime location is very unique! It is an opportunity to share a little bit of Sublime with the rest of NZ by selling beans, sharing knowledge, and making a wicked brew.
A recent background of strong barista experience with at least 2 years in a fast paced environment is ideal. An understanding of specialty coffee is also desirable. Previous management or leadership experience is essential, even if this wasn’t in the hospitality industry.
Management responsibilities include but are not limited to: rostering, finding cover when sickness strikes or your team has leave, managing the day to day operations with strong communication to the wider team, running monthly team meetings and frequent reporting to and collaborating with HR and our Operations Manager.
You will work 5 shifts per week with one weekend day off and 2 days off in a row. Note – the morning shift is an early start of 5am and our latest shift currently goes until 5.15/5.30pm (each day the shifts are split between a team of 3).
You must be keen to learn and up skill your technical knowledge and most importantly – enjoy good banter with our awesome team and customers!
Full training will be provided, however this is not an entry level role.
