Stories In The Beech Glade
This Conservation Week join us for Stories in the Beech Glade with Special guest Melanie Drewery!
Join local author Melanie Drewery (Matariki, Nanny Mihi) as she sings songs, and reads stories about the ngahere (forest). Learn about rongoā (traditional Māori medicine), taste delicious Kawakawa tea, and spend the afternoon exploring the beautiful Brook Waimārama Sanctuary.
The entry fees include all day entry to the Sanctuary, so why not come early, explore the Sanctuary and perhaps enjoy a family picnic in the Sanctuary for joining us and Melanie at 2pm in the Beech Glade.
As this event is being held in the Beech Glade, numbers are capped at 50 people.

SANCTUARY EVENTS
During the year the Sanctuary holds a number of special events; each year we hold two open days, generally held in April and October. During the winter months, generally from June to September we offer glowworm tours which have proven to be extremely popular over the last two years. We also run a number of pop-up events throughout the year, so keep an eye on this page (and our Facebook page) for the latest information!
If you, or your organisation, are planning a ‘special event’ – get in touch to discuss holding your event in the Sanctuary. (The Sanctuary has previously hosted corporate events, weddings, remembrance services/gatherings (note, scattering of ashes in the Sanctuary is not permitted). Contact:
Olivia Gallagher, Events Coordinator – events@brooksanctuary.org.nz or
Ru Collin, Chief Executive – ru.collin@brooksanctuary.org.nz
