Our new refurbished accessible units are open for business: Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park
Our new refurbished accessible units are open for business again with Stoke-Tāhunanui ward councillor Campbell Rollo Nelson City Councillor doing the official opening honors.
The units were originally built by Rotary on behalf of CCS Disability Action in 1984. In serious need of an overhaul, the level of reinvestment required to update them saw CCS hand the units back to the Holiday Park earlier this year. We are committed to keeping the units modified for people with various accessible needs going forward, so we consulted with Jezza Williams of Makingtrax to ensure we made the facilities as inclusive as possible.
It’s been a big couple of weeks for us as we’ve also unveiled our newest playground!
Open to the public who are using The Deck Cafe Tahuna or our mini-golf course, this area also recently got a new mega bouncy pillow and shade sails. Once the ribbon was cut, the playground was joyfully put through its paces by neighbouring playgroup Eden Early Learning.
The total spend on the playground was $75,000 while the accessible units were $95,000. These are two examples of how our Holiday Park reinvests in its facilities for the enjoyment of our community as well as visitors.
