The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary 🦜🌳
The brook sanctuary is an awesome spot close to home that will have you emerged in the beautiful New Zealand native forest and surrounded by bird song.
There is a range of tracks within the sanctuary itself including wheelchair and pram accessibility. The harder tracks have some significant slopes, if you are unsure about what track is best for you the friendly volunteers at the visitor’s centre are happy to help with your decision.
The sanctuary is the perfect place to learn more about biodiversity in New Zealand, the effects introduced species have had on our native flora & fauna and why it’s so important for us as a country to have 100% pest free sanctuary’s like the brook.
If you are interested in learning more about this there are guided walks available with knowledgeable guides to answer your questions or you can venture around on your own if preferred.
