Community Support Drives Progress On Natureland’s Capuchin Exhibit

Exciting things are happening at Natureland Wildlife Trust as we work toward creating a brand-new home for our beloved Capuchin monkeys. Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, we’ve made significant strides in the construction of this important project.

We’ve successfully completed Stage 1 of the exhibit build. This first phase involved the Downer Group NZ clearing the old perimeter fence, making way for the new structure. Donaldson Civil followed by removing the old mound, digging out the moat, and installing the poles kindly donated by Tasman Pines. To support the construction, Higgins Concrete donated the cement used to secure the poles and lay the base for our new walkway. Edridge also stepped in to provide the gravel needed to complete the concreting, which was flawlessly done by Independent Kerb and Concreting.

As we look ahead to Stage 2, the focus will shift to installing the new perimeter fencing, bringing us closer to completing this much-needed exhibit..

However, the project’s final phase, Stage 3, involves building a comfortable and secure den for the Capuchins, and this is where we need your help. To finish the den, we are reaching out to the community to support us through donations on our Givealittle page. Give a Little Now.
Every dollar helps bring us closer to providing the capuchins with a state-of-the-art habitat that ensures their well-being.

We are incredibly thankful to our sponsors so far—Downer Group NZ, Donaldson Civil, Tasman Pines, Higgins Concrete, Edridge, and Independent Kerb and Concreting—for their contributions to this project. Their generosity has made it possible to get this far, and with continued support from our community, we will see the capuchins happily settled into their new home.

Please consider donating and being part of this amazing project!
