Excellent central accommodation and a good welcoming host
We (3 of us) were welcomed by Max who proved to be an excellent host and gave us good advice on where to eat and good walking directions to the centre of town. This proved to be an excellent central location with easy parking on site. We were lucky to stay here twice before our trip to the Abel Tasman and after, the second time upstairs in a particularly nice room although all the rooms were spacious and comfortable with comfortable beds (ours had a shower and spa bath). There were kitchen facilities in the room which we didn’t use opting instead for one night at Urban Eatery (open also on a Monday which we needed) and also Hopgoods and Co on our last night. Max kept our luggage when we went on the kayak/ hiking trip and it was waiting for us in our rooms on our return. We were flying to Auckland the next morning and were short of time for breakfast. Max advised that the Nelson airport restaurant had a great non standard breakfast so we could eat there and how right he was. Good coffee too. These personal tips where the host reads his guests right are so helpful and an added incentive to stay at the Palazzo. A good place to stay when visiting Nelson.
