GULAAN PASIFIKA ME SASO TOUR Celebrating 30 years of music
A unique and exceptional concert at NELSON, not to be missed!
Edouard WAMEJO, aka GULAAN, began his career as a multi-instrumentalist singer with the release of his first album BYNETY on September 8, 1994. Since then, he has released 15 albums with nearly 200 songs written and performed by his own songwriters.
Originally from the island of Maré in New Caledonia, he is a talented guitarist with a unique arpeggio style. His talent was acclaimed during his selection for The VOICE France in 2018, when the 4 jury chairs turned around to select him.
That’s why, to celebrate 30 years in the music business, he’s touring the Pacific islands with PASIFIKA ME SASO, ‘uniting the peoples of the Pacific Ocean around shared traditional and cultural values’.
By sharing his music with other Pacific artists, GULAAN weaves a bond of spirit and heart between peoples.
This May 24, come and listen to the hits of GULAAN, for a moment out of time.
He will be accompanied by the MAORI choir and the violin. Two styles of gospel, one from Gulaan’s native island and the other from Maori song, will sublimate certain songs to our delight. An exceptional encounter between two Oceanic cultures: KANAK and MAORI.
