Te Ao Mārama by Robin Slow & Te Ohu Weka at Refinery ArtSpace

After flooding last month, we are so pleased to reopen our doors on Monday 16th June, in time for our next exhibition. We’re reopening to the public with our next exhibition: Te Ao Mārama by Robin Slow & Te Ohu Weka.
All are welcome. No RSVP needed.

Experience light emerging from darkness through stunning collaborative artworks by artist collective Te Ohu Weka, created under the guidance of Robin Slow and Mat Tait. This three part exhibition will spread across our three gallery spaces, featuring pieces from the Maramataka Matariki 2025–2026 and two solo collections of new work by Robin Slow: Ka Puta Mai Te Ao Marama and Taniwha o te Whenua.

The artworks respond to Te Ao Mārama, The Enlightened World. The artists involved considered many forms of light including it’s hopeful aspects alongside the darkness, because it is only in the darkness that light can be seen. Together the works reflect the whakapapa thread connecting the past to the present and future.
