Planning certainty secured for Nelson Airport’s future runway extension

We’re pleased to share that the Environment Court has formally confirmed the planning changes that enable a future extension of our runway. This is an important milestone, providing long-term certainty for both the airport and community, while ensuring we are ready to respond when changes in aircraft fleets and demand make an extension necessary. While the development is still 10 to 15 years away, it was important to undertake this planning work early to provide clarity about how the airport will develop in the future.
