We Are Young: Childhood in Photography at The Suter Art Gallery

We Are Young – Childhood in Photography opened last week and local tamariki including this group from Auckland Point School have already been enjoying and engaging with the exhibition.
We Are Young explores photography of children in Aotearoa from the late 19th century to now. The exhibition offers insight into how the young have been portrayed by photographers across different cultural moments

We Are Young explores how young people have been captured on camera — from intimate images of whānau to street photography and contemporary portraiture.
Spanning different eras and perspectives, the exhibition looks at the relationships behind the lens, and how ideas of youth, identity, and representation continue to shift.
