Starting Wednesday 22nd July 2026 – OCEANO’s exciting new menu is a premium Chef’s Table dining experience designed exclusively for Nelson’s landmark Rutherford Hotel Nelson.
We believe that some of life’s most meaningful connections are made around the dining table. Inspired by the relationship between land, sea and fire, OCEANO celebrates the extraordinary artisanal produce of the Nelson Tasman region through seasonal tasting menus prepared before the guests’ eyes.

At the Chef’s Table, every guest enjoys a front-row seat to the kitchen. Chefs prepare every course within sight of the guests, sharing stories about the ingredients, the local producers and the inspiration behind each dish, encouraging conversation, shared discoveries and a unique sense of occasion that can’t be recreated in any traditional restaurant setting.
