Sunshine…
Greeting dear friends & fellow navigators, & welcome to my world this week. Weve grown up believing strength must look a certain way. It means showing up with a smile even when you are exhausted inside, carrying burdens without letting anyone notice how heavy they have become, & convincing yourself you must keep going no matter how much your heart is asking for rest. Somewhere along the way, we started believing being strong meant hiding every emotion making us look vulnerable.
But strength has another face, one people rarely talk about. Usually, it is found in admitting you are tired. Sometimes it is choosing to rest instead of forcing yourself to keep running. Often, it is allowing yourself to cry after holding everything together for far too long. There is nothing weak about
feeling overwhelmed. There is courage in being honest about your pain instead of pretending it does not exist.
The sky has always reminded me of this. Every day it carries the sun, the moon, the stars, & endless clouds, yet there are moments when it disappears behind shades of gray & lets the rain fall without apology. It does not rush the storm because someone is waiting for blue skies. It does not force the
clouds to leave before they are ready. It simply gives them the space they need, trusting every storm has its own ending.
Even then, the sky never loses its beauty. Some people wait for sunshine, while others find comfort in rainy afternoons, the sound of thunder rolling through the distance, or the quiet peace which comes with watching raindrops race down a window. The storm does not make the sky any less
beautiful. It simply reveals another side of it, one of deserving to exist just as much as the bright, cloudless days.
We are much the same. There will be days when your heart feels heavier than your words, when getting out of bed feels like the bravest thing you will do, & when your thoughts seem louder than the world around you. Those moments do not erase your kindness, your worth, or the light you have always carried. They simply remind you are human, & being so has always meant feeling deeply.
So let yourself slow down when life becomes too heavy. Let the tears come when your heart can no longer carry them alone. Sit with your sadness without treating it like a problem needing to be solved before the day ends. Healing has never followed a deadline. It arrives quietly, often when you have finally stopped fighting your own feelings & allowed yourself the grace to simply be.
One of the kindest things you can do for yourself is to stop expecting sunshine every single day. Some seasons are meant for blooming, while others are for resting, healing, & gathering the strength to begin again. Both are equally important, & neither makes you any less whole.
So, when life feels overwhelming, look up at the sky. It has survived every storm without forgetting how to become blue again. The rain always finds its ending. The clouds always drift away. The sun never disappears forever, even when you cannot see it.
The same is true for you. Your light has not gone anywhere. It is simply resting behind the clouds, waiting for its time to shine again.
Just few observations again dear friends & provide an opinion in my world. Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate your being here. If my journey encourages you also, all is well with my soul. Looking forward to next week; this is Kenn Butler in Paradise, Nelson with best wishes.
