IN FOCUS | Jane Tan
“Art that is born out of feeling.”
This week we’re turning the spotlight on Nelson-based abstract painter Jane Tan, whose expressive, layered works explore the connection between emotion, experience and the physical world.
Working intuitively with colour, gesture and texture, Jane creates paintings that are both deeply personal and open to interpretation.
One of the things we particularly love about Jane’s practice is her use of pigments made from earth gathered around her own property, bringing a beautiful, tangible connection to place into her work.
Swipe through to meet Jane and explore some of her paintings.
