And just like that, Nelson Arts Festival 2026 has come to a close, and what an extraordinary 11 days it has been!
From breathtaking international performances and bold new local works to powerful stories of resilience, unforgettable moments of music, dance, storytelling and community celebration, Whakatū has truly come alive with creativity and joy.
Thousands of people have gathered across our theatres, streets, beaches and public spaces to share in the magic of the arts. We’re incredibly grateful to the artists, audiences, volunteers, partners and wider community who made this year’s festival so special.
