We hear it a lot as people enter the shop, whether it be their very first time visiting or they come twice a day; “Wow, what is that incredible smell?” Favourites are vanilla, liquorice or fruit, any of which could come from the 100+ teas or the house-roasted coffee beans held on site.
Our cosy little city store is bursting at the seams with local artisan treats, crockery and coffee and tea paraphernalia, sourced locally and from around the world. In and around the abundance of eye-catching treats are intimate corners to sit and enjoy your cup of tea or coffee to your hearts content.
For the past few years we have maintained a relationship with one of the oldest tea farms in Sri Lanka. Their knowledge and passion for the traditions and processes involved, allows us to bring world class tea to New Zealand. These loose-leaf teas are stored in traditional Japanese designed tins, which add a great charm to the shop, and hold one of the widest arrays in the country.
Our coffee, supplied by The Coffee Factory, is roasted twice weekly to ensure freshness and consistency. Pomeroy’s has always envisioned providing the highest quality single origin beans, along with our large selection of house blends.
The well stocked retail shelves hold a vast range of brewing equipment, as well as goodies made by the many local talented businesses found here in Nelson. These are often used to make up our popular gift baskets, along with our own tea and coffee beans.
