Peahen Display

Fun Fact Friday: It’s not just the male peafowl that can give a display with their tail feathers. Our peahen Ginny certainly doesn’t have as vibrant feathers, but it’s hard to ignore her nonetheless. Unfortunately for our peacock Harry, this display isn’t usually used to find love, but to tell the other free range birds to back off from her food. Note the reaction from one of our chickens…#natureland #naturelandwildlifetrust #animals #conservation #wildlifeconservation #aotearoa #newzealand #newzealandzoo #nelson #zoowork #zoo #familydayout #family #animalbehaviour #peafowl #peacock #peahen #barbrockchicken
