Back in the studio after a weekend out in the mountains.
A sneak peak of this painting depicting Lake Marian, located in the Fiordland National park.
Last winter I pitched camp on the lake edge and woke up to this morning view.
I will be participating in a group exhibition at the @parkergallerynelson in November this year.
This painting along with others will depict the wild rivers, lakes, valleys and mountains of Aotearoa.
The stillness of this scene is portrayed through the sharp, quite graphical horizontal lines in the reflection. The quietness that is found in these remote places.
