Attention all car lovers! There’s a new event coming to town. It’s a little bit different…
We all know that car enthusiasts love getting together, soak up the vibe and enjoy a gathering of like-minded individuals is food for the soul. Conversations about engines, specific car models and fond memories from back in the day…
The Nelson Car Fair is an opportunity for anyone who wishes to browse, buy or sell a car to do so in a fun, family-friendly environment. Looking for a new car? or have you got a car to sell? Then bring it down to the Trafalgar Centre Carpark Sunday, November 22 9am – 1pm. It costs only $20 entry fee per car for sellers (free entry for the general public) It’s a great opportunity to kick some tyres, grab a bargain or sell your car and deal directly with the customer on the day.
It’s open to all types of cars, motorbikes, 4×4, Utes, camper vans, boats, classic or anything with an engine!
It’s a concept that has proved to be very popular in Auckland, where they are held every Sunday at the Ellerslie Racecourse, drawing huge crowds.
Organiser Tau Aupaau was born in Christchurch. He’s had a huge passion for cars since he was very young and remembers sitting with his 3 brothers in the boot of his dads blue HR Holden Special Station-wagon (with the tailgate window down) as they cruise to local beaches together. He’s a huge fan of muscle cars in particular and is currently restoring his 1975 Valiant Charger 770.
“Cars are great levellers. They provide a great talking point. It’s my dream to have a regular family friendly event on a Sunday in Nelson. We encourage any car and motorbike clubs to come on down before they do their local run and be part of the atmosphere. If you have a food stall or even know a musician who is keen on a bit of busking, we have room for you.” says Tau.
