International Women’s Day is just around the corner: Wine Nelson
International Women’s Day is just around the corner, so we’re shining a light on some of many talented women who make our wine region so highly regarded.
Emmanuelle David, winemaker at Heaphy Vineyards is one such woman! Her winemaking future was oriented by a clever psychologist when Emmanuelle was in her 20s, and she’s never looked back. She successfully balances work life and family life, managing to prioritise happiness over everything 😁
She loves the ever changing base product she works with, and believes there is a complexity and depth to winemaking that’s often overlooked. For Emmanuelle, it’s hard to go past a good vintage Champagne 🍾 We agree!
This week, in celebration of International Women’s Day 2023, we’re celebrating some of the wonderful women in wine we’re lucky enough to have in the Nelson Tasman wine region. ☀️
Meet Greer Williams, part of the winemaking team at Seifried Estate.
She was drawn into winemaking after talking to a family friend about the hands-on nature of winemaking and it’s travel opportunities. She finds immense satisfaction in being part of the transformation of grape to bottle, and wants us to know that it’s not all about standing around drinking wine all day!
Greer is proud to balance work and Mum life, and when she needs a wine (that balance can be tough!), she’ll choose a crisp, zingy Riesling!
