As we look to the skies this Matariki, discover the story of Albert Jones (1920–2013) – a legendary Stoke-based stargazer who dedicated his life to observing the stars.
🔭 On display now at Nelson Provincial Museum is Lesbet, the homemade telescope Jones built in 1947. With it, he observed more than 500,000 variable stars, discovered two comets, and even identified a supernova -all from his backyard.
